Ombré Invitations
The Urban Dictionary defines the word Ombré the following way:
“A French term meaning “shaded.” Usually a multicolored stripe, with colors graduating from light to dark. The color effect, generally produced by arranging different tones in the warp.
This is often seen in hair, clothes, or even art.”
We’ve noticed a trend in Bar and Bat Mitzvah invitations using colorful Ombrés, either as backgrounds or in the actual lettering palette. Sometimes the Ombrés use different tones of the same color, for example an Ombré of greens going from deep tones to light ones. Other times the Ombrés have more of a rainbow quality.
Incorporating an Ombré effect in your invitation design might help nail down the décor of your event. Table linens, seating cards and mood lighting can all follow the Ombré effect, either by using color gradients, or more simply using a range of colors in the party accessories.
